The problem

Tableware exported to Europe has to survive two assessments: hundreds of dishwashing cycles under EN 12875-1 and the thermal shock of microwave heating under BS EN 15284. Sending samples out takes weeks per round and every glaze tweak starts again; buying a dishwasher rig and a microwave tester separately doubles floor space and budget and forces the lab to juggle two control systems.

Capability

Two functional modules share one frame (1800x850x1700mm), one controller and one HMI: a wet zone dishwashing module on the left and a dry microwave module on the right, so one loading completes both assessments. The dishwashing module uses a 13-place-setting machine body with reinforced consumables and follows EN 12875-1 clause 8.3 automatically: 6.0L fill with soft-water hardness controlled on line at 0.3-0.6 mmol/L, 5-minute circulation, 24g/L detergent at 60C for 20 minutes, cold rinse and intermediate rinse, final rinse at 65C with rinse aid, then drying 3 minutes closed and 30 minutes open. Dosing is 0-30g settable, spray pressure 29000Pa, inlet 0.05-0.4MPa, cycles 1-99999 with door-open counting and automatic reset; baskets carry 10kg upper and 20kg lower. The microwave module uses a 2450MHz industrial magnetometer, 0-1000W continuously variable without pulsing (500/600/1000W steps), with energy closed loop at E=P x t - 72000J short cycle and 468000J long cycle converted to heating time automatically. A 60L 304 stainless cavity with PTFE lining offers at least 400x400mm of placement area, two 125ml water loads sit behind the turntable, a fiber-optic sensor reads true cavity temperature 0-250C within 1C, and an infrared sensor completes handle judgement within 45s of door opening - ceramic and glass at or below 56C, plastics at or below 60C per EN ISO 13732-1. Safety: drop-down latched door with choke slots, high-pass observation window, multi-interlock that cuts microwaves on opening, leakage below 5mW/cm2, arc-stop, plus a hard-wired safety circuit independent of the PLC. Control is a Siemens S7-200 SMART with a 10-inch Weintek panel; temperature/energy curves, cycles, water quality and images are archived and exported over USB with customizable report templates. Temperature, microwave power (water-calorimetric) and leakage are calibrated before delivery with a third-party certificate.
