Grease used on gas cooker taps swells and washes out in contact with gas - at best the tap turns stiff and leaks, at worst the flow will not close fully. GB 16410 makes grease resistance-to-gas a mandatory certification item: mass change is assessed at both 20C and 4C. A hand-controlled water bath plus a balance drifts by a degree and the result is worthless, and an audit without process records is worse.
A single-station layout follows GB 16410-2007 clause 5.4.2.3. The water bath temperature is settable from 0 to 50 degrees C with digital display, covering both assessment points of 20C and 4C. Gas pressure displays 0-5000Pa with a regulation range of 2000-5000Pa, so the test supply stays stable. The acceptance follows the standard: after exposure the mass change must be below 10 percent at 20C and below 25 percent at 4C, and the seal performance must still pass a re-test. Bath, temperature control, timing and gas flow are integrated so every test condition is traceable when the certificate auditor asks.
