Jet Fanning Out and Splashing the Countertop? NL-AER-2 Aerator Flow Uniformity and Splash Bench (pump test bench), Six Stations

Popularity:2Time of publication:2026/11/2 9:14:08

The aerator sits at the tap outlet, costs a few yuan, and is the direct source of how the tap feels. A jet that fans into a sheet, water splashing across the worktop, a tap audible through the living room at night — the user will not say the aerator is at fault, they will say the tap is. The incoming check is usually one thing: run water, see whether it is blocked, look for burrs. Flow-against-pressure curves, aeration uniformity, splash volume, flow decay after the screen scales, how much flow survives tens of thousands of on-off cycles — no single bench in the plant produces those numbers together. Assembly plants judge by hand at final sampling and still cannot say what is wrong when the sample feels off.

What the NL-AER-2 aerator flow and splash bench measures

  • Six stations with independent regulated supply from 0.05 to 0.8 MPa, stepped in 0.1 MPa increments, a flow-against-pressure curve per piece (the regulated supply loop reused straight from our pump test bench range)
  • Three outlet types measured separately: aerated, laminar-boosted and shower pattern, deviation from nominal flow logged per piece
  • Aeration uniformity: a high-speed camera captures the outlet jet, bubble size distribution and off-centre discharge quantified by image criteria rather than by eye
  • Splash test: a baffle at 45° measures splash spread and splash mass, turning “wets the worktop” into a comparable millilitre figure
  • Outlet noise: A-weighted sound pressure at 1 m on the GB/T 3768 basis, so a tap that is loud at night has a number
  • Screen blockage decay: hard water and sand-bearing water circulated, flow re-measured on a scaling cycle, a cleaning and replacement interval derived
  • Life cycling: tens of thousands of on-off and pressure cycles, then flow and pattern re-measured, seal ring migration and screen loosening visible
  • Hot and cold alternation: 5 to 85 °C supply switching, flow stability and deformation of plastic and seal parts checked in the hot state
  • Barcode binding, flow, pattern criteria, splash mass and noise exported per piece for screen and seal lot comparison

Applicable standards

GB 18145 (ceramic cartridge faucets) for flow and sealing clauses, GB/T 23447 (sanitary ware – shower heads), GB 28378 (minimum allowable values of water efficiency for showers) for the flow test basis, noise measured to GB/T 3768; splash mass and pattern criteria can follow the customer standard, sampling to GB/T 2828.

Stations and throughput

Six stations on continuous regulated supply complete the flow curve, aeration pattern, splash mass, noise and blockage decay in one loading, replacing “run water and look” with per-piece curves, images and millilitre figures. Incoming aerators, finished tap builds and e-commerce return re-tests share one bench, collapsing an unspecific “the tap does not feel right” complaint into one measurable index.
