A pump acceptance sheet carries two numbers: flow and head. The complaints arriving from the field describe something else entirely — a low-frequency hum that starts with the machine, hides by day, and carries through the floor slab at night. Take the pump apart and four things surface at once: residual imbalance left in a trimmed impeller, a cutwater clearance set too tight against the impeller outside diameter, an inlet already in cavitation inception at low water level, and light indentation on a bearing raceway. None of the four appears on the H-Q curve, and all four land in noise and vibration. A line without an acoustic space or a vibration pickup can only power the unit up and listen, then wait for the complaints.
GB/T 29529 (measurement and evaluation of pump vibration), GB/T 3216 (rotodynamic pumps – hydraulic performance acceptance tests), GB/T 3768 (sound power by sound pressure, engineering method) alongside ISO 3744; appliance noise limits can follow the GB 4706.1 series and the customer standard, sampling to GB/T 2828.
Four stations running continuously complete hydraulic duty, sound power, vibration severity and spectra in a single mounting, replacing “power it up and listen” with per-unit acoustic records. Incoming pumps, appliance matching and after-sales dispute re-tests share one bench, keeping night-time low-frequency complaints out of the field.
