The corrosion protection of an enamel tank comes down to one number: the protection current. Any pinhole or exposed steel in the coating pushes it up immediately. Measuring it accurately needs the test solution held at a constant temperature, circulated and kept at the same concentration, yet manual solution changes are slow and never identical between tanks, so batch data cannot be compared and audit-ready current curves are simply not available.
Built to QB/T 2590-2003 Storage Water Heaters - Glass Enameled Parts, the bench measures the protection current of enamel tanks and evaluates coating integrity and its electrochemical protection of the steel substrate. An automatic circulation pump transports and recovers the test liquid, holds it at 20+/-2degC and monitors conductivity, so every tank is measured under the same standard conditions. The protection current meter takes 220V input and outputs 1.5V with digital voltage and current display (voltmeter internal resistance 10Mohm/V); about 300L of brine is recyclable and a 3HP chiller keeps the bath stable. Final values are exported by PC with automatic query, analysis and report printing, stored on disk and hard drive for traceability. Suits tank flanges of 70mm diameter and 400-1300mm height; a dedicated cart (customer supplied) moves and clamps the tank. Supply 220V 50Hz.
