Micro-leaks in heat exchangers, condensers and pressure-bearing tube assemblies are among the hardest failures to trace in the appliance and refrigeration industry. A water-immersion bubble test only catches the larger ones: brazed joints and expansion points begin to weep only after thermal cycling and vibration, and an operator with a tank of water cannot see it. Discovering the problem when the appliance is recalled in the field is far too late. Turning leak rate into a measurable number is the only dependable incoming gate.
