The problem

A floor washer handle moves between upright and folded all day long: upright when pushing, folded to reach under furniture. Once the lock wears the handle drops by itself and the user simply calls the machine broken, yet verifying lock life means pressing it hundreds of times a day by hand, and over-travel cracks the plastic while under-travel shows no wear.

Capability

Built to IEC 60312 and customer specifications, the bench runs upright and folding cycles on floor washers and vacuums to evaluate the handle lock, pivot and hose. A reduction servo motor driven by PLC folds the sample between 0 and 90deg at 10-20 cycles per minute, interval 0-99999s settable, angle accuracy 0.5deg, counter and timer preset 0-99999999 with automatic stop and alarm at target. Aluminium work platform 400x600mm with fixtures changeable for different bodies, servo stepper start for smooth motion without overshoot. About 700x1500x1450mm, AC220V 1.5kW.
