The problem

Grinder wear is subtle: burrs dull, motor brushes wear and the discharge chute cakes, so the first 500 cycles look fine and by 3000 the dose is twenty percent short while the user only says the grinder no longer grinds fine. Testing means feeding beans, pressing the switch, waiting, resting and clearing powder all day, and inconsistent doses make the data incomparable.

Capability

The machine runs life tests on coffee grinders in feed, grind and discharge modes, with a single tier of six stations: beans on top, sample in the middle, ground coffee collected below, fully automatic. Sequence: locate the sample, auto feed, power on, start, run 45s (adjustable), rest 75s (adjustable), count one cycle, repeat four times for five cycles, rest 30 minutes (adjustable), discharge powder (adjustable), then repeat for 3650 cycles before automatic stop. Stations run independently; when a sample finishes or faults the system cuts its power at all poles without disturbing the others, and out-of-range values raise an audible and visual alarm. Electrical parameters, cycle times and fault records are displayed and stored in real time. The frame table and fixtures use heat-resistant, flame-retardant, water and corrosion resistant materials with samples clamped against movement. Frame about 1.8x0.6x1.7m on castors, width within 80cm and height within 200cm to pass laboratory doors; network remote monitoring available as an option.
