The problem

Gas appliance testing needs reference gas and limit gases 1, 2 and 3. Cylinder gas is expensive, needs frequent changes and drifts in composition and calorific value between batches; change the source and all previous heat input and flue gas data lose comparability. Manual blending relies on gauges and experience, the Wobbe index drifts, and nobody wants to sign the report.

Capability

The system blends in real time: six gas inlets and three outlets with a maximum flow of 30m3/h, so gas is mixed as it is consumed instead of waiting for a buffer vessel to settle. The blending unit combines high-precision automatic pressure and flow controllers with laminar flow meters and a micro differential pressure sensor, while temperature and pressure signals are acquired for compensation; a precision correction function keeps composition deviation within 2% of the Wobbe index under condition A+C and within 5% under condition B+C. Software covers parameter management, ratio calculation, precision correction, automatic make-up, storage and output, manual blending and automatic blending - the operator enters the required ratio and the system completes the whole process. Three 1m3 wet gas holders are included and a dry holder can be connected at the outlet. The blending unit offers RS232/RS485 for remote connection to a laboratory supervisory system, with communication cable supplied. Safety is layered: the electrical cabinet is separated from the gas cabinet, with system leak check, gas-supply-loss protection during blending, holder overflow protection and a leakage monitoring device; the gas storage room is fitted with explosion-proof lighting and fan, and alarm signals are wired to the supervisory system. Feed gases can be hydrogen, nitrogen, methane, ethane, propane, butane, propylene, LPG or air - any three or more; when natural gas replaces methane it must contain more than 90% methane with stable composition and adequate inlet pressure.
